How to Make Distilled Water

When you need to have pure water for drinking purpose then that water should not contain any chemical contaminants except the trace minerals. Through distillation process, you use to get a completely different result. There no use of pure water that does not have trace minerals. However, you can use such water in certain industrial settings and other applications.

To maintain the purity of your distilled water, it is essential to have a clean reservoir. A reservoir that is not sterilized can add bacteria to the water. What You Need:
Tap water, Steel Container(stainless), Heat-Resistant Glass Bowl, Glass Plate, Ice, Stove Top (gas or electric).

It is not a challenge to make distilled water using the process below, however, it can be time-consuming if you require distilled water all the time. For this reason, it is wise to consider a reverse osmosis system for a long-term solution. You can even purchase jugs of distilled H2O at any store. Getting Started:

  • Put your stainless steel container on a flat surface.
  • Fill the stainless steel container with a ¼ inch of tap water.
  • Put your heat-resistant bowl inside the container in order for it floats freely.
  • Flip your glass plate upside down, and put on top of the stainless steel container.
  • Place the stainless steel container on top of the stove.
  • Place ice on top of the upside down glass plate.
  • Turn the heat on high to make the water boil.
  • Once water reaches a boil, turn down the heat.
  • As the ice melts, continue to add more.
  • Continue this process to acquired enough distilled water for yourself.

So How Does This Process Make Distilled Water?

The water inside the steel container(stainless) heat up and evaporates. When it rises, it come into contact with cold glass plate, which makes it condense. Once it condenses, it drops to the floating glass bowl. The H2O inside the glass bowl is distilled! This is clean, treated, purified water that you can use to drink, cook, water plants, wash clothes, and more!
