Kris Kondo considers herself a dandelion seed released from the shores of Lake Michigan taking root in various places. She grew up like a weed mostly in Canada, went to art school & university in Boston, and in 1972 took a ship to Japan where dandelions are looked upon fondly. She has lived more than half her life there painting, writing poetry and teaching. Recently she has rekindled an old passion raising vegetables. She lives in Chestnut Cottage with daughter Karen 9, son Jorge 21, boarders Emi and Carmen, three cats and a room to welcome wandering poets.

Daughter Anna, 19, is dandelioning in Michigan. Kris has been exhibiting her paintings since the 1960's and been published internationally since 1979, and her renku career started in 1980.
